Family First Non-Temporary Storage
Guardian and its subsidiaries, Laurel Van Lines and WIT Associates have been providing quality household goods storage to military members for over 50 years. When the non-temporary storage program was introduced in 1957, the U.S. Army’s Military Traffic Management Command (MTMC) – Eastern Region for the provision of non-temporary storage services, awarded Guardian a contract. Guardian still provides similar service to MTMC today. Since 1957, we have been origin/destination agents for numerous carriers who participate in the DOD Thru-Bill Program.
We are presently the largest military non-temp contractor in the world. At the same time, we have sufficient space and capability to service the proposed contract and its storage and related requirements.
In September of 1997, we were awarded a contract to receive and hold non-temporary storage of retrograde household goods for military members and civilian employees of the Department of Defense. This contract, administered by the Department of the Army, Fort Monmouth, NJ, Is the largest function of its kind to be outsourced to a commercial contractor, handling in excess of fifteen million pounds both inbound and outbound annually. This operation manages nearly 11,000 crates with no incidence of loss due to mislocation.
